Review on Balisong instructional Book
Balisong
The Lethal Art Of Filipino Knife Fighting
by Sid Campbell, Gary Cagaanan, and Sonny Umpad
Three experts of FMA Contributed to authoring this book, it covers how to conceal, draw, flip and grip the balisong as well as the usage of the live or open hand for checking, monitoring, passing and parrying.
the photos are nicely laid out and informative. GM Sonny Umpad is a legend in FMA circles for his Visayan Corto-Kadena eskrima method and his utter mastery of blade methods & his deceptive footwork. it was nice to read such a well laid out book with alot of history and information on the tactics of this uniquely filipino weapon. the knife cutting drills and patterns of attack were very informative and gives great insight into visayan Corto-Kadena eskrima methods.
a worthy addition to ones FMA library.

Welcome to Corpus Christi Eskrima Blog
Corpus Christi Eskrima is a fighting system which is a fusion of Eskrima (a weapons based martial art from the Philipines) with methods derived from Kung-Fu, Millitary Combatives, various knife-fighting methods and Western-Fencing methods.
The term “Corpus Christi” is derived from the final venue of the club based in the Moyross, Community Buildings,Limerick City. This website is an attempt to preserve for posterity and to collate some of the training methods, drills and tactics Master Bennis imparted.
The intention is to continue and spread the art that Master Bennis taught.
I hope you all enjoy some of the upcoming posts and look forward to training with you some day.
